With just a little adult guidance your children can have fun making a butterfly house of their own. It’s a stimulating and healthy process that also makes a great opportunity to learn more about the butterflies that may move in to hibernate.
Leading invertebrate conservation charity, Buglife, were so impressed with our insect houses that they have endorsed the complete Vivara range, commenting on "a really well designed and practical selection" of habitats.
All parts are custom made with pre-drilled holes for the nails. You don’t need special tools or a workshop, just a hammer. Clear instructions that are easy for children to understand are provided, along with all fastenings.
Once finished the house can be uniquely decorated with paint or markers, then placed in a sunny, sheltered spot and wait to see which butterflies take up residence.
Planting an area of butterfly attracting flowers will let you point out these beautiful creatures to the children and increase their enjoyment and awareness of them.
