Tawny Owls, Stock Doves, and Jackdaws naturally nest in cavities in trees or buildings; however, it is becoming increasingly challenging to find a suitable nesting place in the wild. Our Tawny Owl Nest Box provides a safe place for these birds to nest.

This specialist nest box should be installed at least 3 metres from the ground in an area that is relatively undisturbed and should have a clear flight path to the entrance. Tawny Owls and Jackdaws may use a nest box in a busier environment if it is placed above 5 metres high. Tawny Owl chicks will leave the nest before they can fly, so it’s vital that they can access branches with cover to hide in during the day, such as an ivy-covered tree.

This bundle includes a compact HD colour camera, complete with night vision, so you can watch as birds make themselves at home. The camera has built-in Wi-Fi, so there is no need for a network cable - simply make sure the camera is connected to power and receives a strong Wi-Fi signal. Using the free app, you can easily watch live or recorded footage of your feathered friends using an iOS or Android device. . The video is recorded in up to 1080p Full HD via the micro-SD card supplied in the kit, and the wide-angle lens offers an excellent view inside the nest box. You can even livestream your nest box so others can enjoy watching the wildlife in your garden!

Tips for our Tawny Owl Nest Box:
• Add a layer of loose, dry material, such as wood shavings or shredded bark before the breeding season starts.
• Clean the nest box in December by carefully opening it via the latch, removing any contents, and replacing the material.
• Be aware that Stock Doves may still be nesting as late as November, so always check there are no birds inside before taking the nest box down to clean it.
